About the home & garden show
The Red River Valley Home & Garden Show, organized by the Building Industry Association of the RRV (formerly Home Builders Association), is celebrating 65 years in 2027. The Red River Valley Home & Garden Show is the premier regional show displaying hundreds of home renovation pros, builders, cabinetry experts, landscapers, interior designers, and home furnishers. The annual event typically attracts 7,000 – 9,000 attendees.
The show began at the Fargo Civic Center in 1962. Early shows featured hourly door prizes, 40 to 50 exhibitors, and a homeowners’ clinic covering building, electrical, landscaping, interior decorating, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and financial topics. First known simply as ‘The Home Show’, the event moved to West Acres Mall in the 1970s, then back to the Civic Center, and found its current home at the FARGODOME in 1993.
The show continues to offer the largest selection of home and garden exhibits in the region with hundreds of exhibitors. Education has remained an integral part as organizers work with local experts to offer workshops on cutting-edge design trends, grilling, and yard/gardening topics.

Building Industry Association of the RRV
Founded in 1956, the Building Industry Association of the RRV (formerly Home Builders Association) is a nonprofit trade organization and the largest local builders association affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders in North Dakota and Minnesota.
The BIA-RRV’s efforts focus on being the voice for a strong building and remodeling industry. The Association supports the interests of its members which are located throughout Cass and Clay counties and beyond through advocacy, information, education, workforce development, member-to-member connections, and marketing opportunities.
The BIA-RRV has many ways for the public to connect with builders and trade partners. In addition to the Red River Valley Home & Garden Show, the Association hosts and organizes the Parade of Homes. BIA-RRV offers a website listing the membership categorized by service and searchable by name, company, etc. The Association serves the community in many ways including through its charity, BIA Foundation of the RRV (formally Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation), which offers scholarships for youth pursuing careers in construction and supporting housing projects like Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity builds and much more.
